UV Light Sensor
An easy to use ultraviolet light sensor. This sensor detects 280-390nm light most effectively whenever in front of the sun the values increase substantially and we could use these values to make a shade using the wings.

Humidity Sensor
a low cost humidity and temperature sensor with a single wire digital interface. The sensor is calibrated and doesn’t require extra components. We used this part to measure the humidity + temperature.

Making The Wings
The wings needed to be lightweight so that the low-current servo motors would be able to move them. But at the same time we wanted them to look fancy and 3D! That's why we mixed 3D-Printing with Laser-Cutting (which is also faster!)

Challenges

Connecting the wings to the servo motor was a big challenge. as this was a wearable device and our head moves a lot, we required a strong connection between the servo motors and the wings. That's why we 3D printed a shaft that was able to be screwed into a servo horn.

Future Work Ideas
- Instead of wings, we could try moving the cap up and down when the user is in front of the sun.
- Although not part of the tangible interactive + reactive wearable theme, it would be a nice idea to push these data with the location GPS data to a web server to make a real-time crowdsourced weather map.
