In this assignment, I’ve tried to make a gesture control method for car user interface. As you know, in current car user interface, the touch control method is very popular, but we need to research the next generation of control method.

Challenges

  • Construction. Figuring out how to connect hover’s data with processing.

Future Work Ideas

  • To add a haptic feedback.
  • To test it in car.
  • More applications in car.
  • To figure out what kind of functions should be control by gesture.

Thoughts about Project

  • This is really simple hardware and software. But I’ve found that even graphic designers can experiment this kind of new control method by themselves.
  • Sound feed back is a very important factor for gesture control method.
